So my old G5 just died recently and I've replaced it with a Macbook Pro 13" and I'm thinking of getting some proper recording software. My debate at the moment is mostly between Logic Express 9 and Ableton Live Intro. I don't have a lot of money kicking around and Live Intro does have the attractive advantage of being half the price of Logic Express 9. I'm just wondering what are the pros and cons of these programs. Logic keeps mentioning all the amp simulators and frankly, I don't care, I like my real amp. I am used to Garageband, so I'm wondering if Live Intro will be tricky to master. Most importantly, what do I not get with these stripped down versions in real terms?
